What is Similarweb Rank? + Ranking Factors
With the gradual obsolescence of Alexa Rank, Similarweb Rank emerges as a potent alternative. This metric, which scores website traffic and determines its rank, calculates the number of monthly unique visitors and pageviews across desktop and mobile traffic.
Calculating Similarweb Rank
This rank is calculated for three groups of domains: all domains (global rank), domains in a category or category of the analyzed domain (category rank), and domains from a specific country from which the analyzed domain receives the most traffic (country rank).
Note: The rank is updated when the monthly Similarweb data is published and remains constant for a month, regardless of the period.
Usage
Utilize Similarweb Rank as a practical metric to gauge your website’s relative position globally, domestically, and within major categories. This tool empowers you with actionable insights to enhance your website’s performance.

Ranking (App)
Similarweb’s app ranking, driven by a user-centric algorithm, factors in elements like Current Installs and Daily Active Users. By prioritizing active users over the number of current installs, this ranking system provides a reliable measure of ‘Active Reach.’

Traffic Calculation
When a user is redirected from subdomain.example.com to subdomain2.example.com, one visit to subdomain.example.com, one visit to subdomain2.example.com, and only one (not two) visit to example.com (including subdomains) are counted. That’s why, in cases where internal traffic (traffic between subdomains) is high, we sometimes see that a particular subdomain has more visits than the main domain.
